Neil Young

I agree with Neil Young, as downtown New York is as entertaining during the day as it is at night. Last weekend, as I mentioned before on this blog, was a whole fun day in my favorite neighborhood of NYC, East Village, and Lower East Side. This time I want to explore a fashion shopping scene of those neighborhoods. I know it is very last moment but who says we do not need post-holiday shopping or just shopping because it makes us happy, especially in those two beautiful parts of Manhattan.

If you are looking for clues where to start your downtown shopping adventures, I have some helpful suggestions. In East Village, check out Cloak & Dagger, a gem of a store on East 9th Street with carefully selected garments making you feel that you entered the gate of the to fashionable heaven was just opened for you. The creative force behind the brand, Brooklynn Starnes, a graduate of acclaimed Pratt Institute, makes sure you can buy fabulous dresses, jewelry, and gifts that would be hard to find in one place somewhere else.

The other absolute favorite of mine, Assembly New York gives you an authentic experience of a concept store from an ultra modern interior with fabulous wooden chairs, which make you just want to stay there forever, to great selection of quality sweaters and my new favorite perfume oil by Maison Luis Marie, Bois de Balincourt.

Reformation is a fashion brand born in downtown LA, which "does not kill the environment" by promoting recycling, an impact of garments on the environment and even using recycled hangers, fixtures and tote bags. Looking for a perfect hat for this winter, head to Reformation!

When you are discovering those neighborhoods, please take a moment to visit The Rising States, which I mentioned on the blog as it always has fabulous dresses, as well leather accessories and jewelry.

Finally, check out 7115 by Szeki with a perfect selection of knits that we always need no matter how the weather keeps surprising us and beautiful, affordable jewelry.

If you in desperate need for a last-moment gift cheat-sheet for a city fashionista in your life, I prepared something for you below.

Happy Holidays! Stay warm, stylish and joyful!
