A History of Pictures by David Hockney and Martin Gayford
My comeback to Europe started with a very rainy weather and a dramatic drop in temperature. It is not as joyful as I had anticipated, but also as somebody wise I listened to recently said: "We are responsible for how we feel." We definitely cannot change the outside aura, so let's at least do some magic with the clothes we have at hand, as it usually is the simplest way to add some brightness to otherwise gray fall skies above our summer-missing heads. Because of my big move across the ocean, I have to say that I did not pay as much attention to the fashion weeks as I usually do. Moreover, I noticed so many repetitive trends on the catwalks that I decided to focus on what I find beautiful, practical and edgy, which boils down to the ingredients of my personal style.

Last few weeks I moved the boxes and packed, so my daily styling goal was pure practicality. For a moment I almost worried I lost it but then when I was standing with my luggage at the airport in Oslo, some free-spirited guy approached me with a simple question: "You must work in fashion, don't you?" That remark, my dear readers, made my day, as I was not feeling the chic after 17 h spent in planes. What I prepared for the October blog fashion edit is a mixture of what I have been wearing day and night lately at the airports, packing or having an informal dinner with friends.

When the weather starts surprising us with blasts of cold and lots of rain, my comfort blanket is a great wool military jacket. This one is from Jessie & James London, a luxury kidswear brand established by super talented fashion couple. Yes, you are not mistaken I chose a jacket for children because I super like it. Also, the largest size fits a small adult frame pretty well. Many fashion stylists borrow blazers and shirts from children's fashion brands as they like the way they fit. The most famous follower of that trend is Ines de la Fressagne, goddess of French chic, whom I mentioned on this blog multiple times.

Luxury sportswear is everywhere, and we are permitted to wear our gym gear to the most formal of events. However, I like mixing and matching it with super elegant pieces for a polished look. If you want to wear track pants, wear them with a ruffle silk blouse or a white boyfriend shirt. To finish the look add some edgy ankle boots, like those from Dear Frances in deepest sapphire blue. My final October stylish surprise is a big comeback of a convertible crossbody bag from Hollister, which you can wear both on your hips and as a belt bag. Personally, I love it!

All you need to leave your house in a pouring rain is a great book. Nobody can talk about art and the meaning behind the pictures better than one of my favorite artists, David Hockney. In the era of a hilarious popularity of Instagram, we all need this book. After you read it, I promise you your images will never remain the same. Please share your October inspirations and ways to battle the summer nostalgia!!!
